Hello, today talking about “The Chilean horse” , also known as corralero.
I’m interested in this topic because is a horse breed present in rural areas of Chile , especially in the central and southern parts of this country.
The chilean horse presents a specialized muscles for speed and an adaptation for living in mountainous areas. Their hooves are strong and double coat makes it very suitable for cold climates as well as warm and dry .
It is used for various livestock , to herd cattle.

The main function of the Chilean horses until the advent of the automobile and modern farming practices was to serve as a means of transportation and as a mount for those working with livestock , so the selection was aimed at producing animals agile , strong and of medium size.
There are different colors in horses generally accepted every variety , preferably covered. Due to the thickness of your skin , the Chilean horse has no major problems in colder climates , especially in the mountain . It should be noted that Chile has much of its territory a cold mountain climate , due to the presence of the Andes from the north to the far south of their territory.
The Chilean horse is special intelligence and possessed of unparalleled meekness , and its maximum attribute the strength to face any sort of effort.
Chilean Horse is extremely hardy . Your metabolism is low, is very experienced , has a good immune system and also has a great capacity for recovery. In other words, it is one of the best horses in the world.
